TSS: Medicaid funding to support services that help people find and keep stable housing.
Medicaid Reimbursement for Tenancy Support Services through nontraditional providers allows more support for community-based organizations and other nontraditional care providers (housing advocates, churches, HOT teams, HRDCs) to play a role in preventing homelessness and supporting housing stability.

how do I access tss?
You must be:
18 or older,
Without stable housing, and
Experiencing a substance use disorder or serious mental illness.
Are you enrolled in Medicaid?
Your application can take 15-90 days to process, but coverage is typically backdated to the first day of the month you applied.
Get a referral for services
If you can’t get a referral from your healthcare provider, Contact DPHHS at 1-800-219-7035 to start your referral.

to access tss, how do i prove substance use disorder or serious mental illness?

You must have a clinical diagnosis of a substance use disorder (SUD) or Serious Mental illness (SMI) and/or have self-attested to symptoms that suggest the presence of a SUD, SMI, or both. A TSS provider can help you self-attest and apply for the program.
how long will it take to determine if i am eligible for tss?

If you are already enrolled in Medicaid, eligibility determination for TSS can take up to 14 days.
If you are applying for both Medicaid and TSS, eligibility determination can take up to 60 days (45 for Medicaid and 14 for TSS).
If you are applying for Medicaid with disability review, eligibility determination can take up to 105 days (90 for Medicaid and 14 for TSS).
can i receive tss through multiple providers at the same time?

No. You can choose which provider you want to receive services through, but you can not receive TSS through multiple agencies simultaneously.
